Well, Spring has finally sprung. We experienced thunder, lightening, rain, snow and sunshine on the first day of Spring. Maybe this season will bring a more pleasant change and surprises.

We are entering our last few months of our VFW year. We’ve made some changes and had to accept some changes but we continue to persevere with our works for our Veterans and their families. Our programs are winding down but there is still time to fulfill the requirements. Thanks to our Program Chairman, Jeanie Bell for helping our chairmen get the programs finished up. Post 6873 has some of the hardest working ladies of any VFW auxiliary.

On Friday, March 12 th, we had a fundraiser, a Mexican Food Buffet. These dinners require hard work and our ladies showed up and worked together to provide a good meal for a great organization. Thanks to Sr. Vice Commander Ralph, Marty and Pete for helping. Even though it was a fundraiser for the Ladies Auxiliary, these guys helped serve and clean up. Thanks also to the Canteen employees for their help. Thanks to everyone that supports us by buying a meal ticket.

We will have an Easter Egg Hunt on April 3 rd. For details, call the chairman, Susie Carter at 325-513-6657 or call the Post. The next district meeting will be at our Post in May. We have a lot of plans to make for the work ahead for that. We have elections at our next meeting on April 13 th. A lot of you have ideas and complaints but the only way to make a difference is come to the meetings and participate. Make your voice and vote count. We will have our dinner at 6:30 p.m. and meeting at 7:30 p.m. The meat for the dinner will be Chicken Fried Chicken and Chicken Fried Steak. Please bring a side dish and enjoy the fellowship.
