Our Veterans Day Parade float was the prettiest in the parade; of course I could be prejudice J . Thanks, goes out to Jimmy Carter, Post Jr. Vice for using his pickup to pull the float. The Post also supported our Gold Star Mother Banquet. We do such good programs when we work together. Also, Gloria Martinez, Hospital Chairman, for her special Patients Day Out and Make a Difference, Veterans Day and Christmas party at the Care Inn, you did so good. So, thanks to all who helped with these programs (you know who you are) if I forgot one name I would feel so bad. Our Buddy Poppy Hat contest was so well received and Trish, our Buddy Poppy Chairman, did such a good job of displaying them. By the way Trish’s hat won the contest with her Patriotic Hat. We even had the Jr. Girls decorate hats. I just appreciate you all so much. For the last minute idea of having our float in the Christmas Parade, I must thank Donna for the idea and Trish, Susie and Jimmy Carter for all their work. Thanks to our Jr. Girls and their sponsors for riding on the float. It was fun even if it was cold. To our Youth Activity Chairman, Janie Rodriguez, a big Thank You for a job well done. The Christmas Party for our deployed troop’s children was a great success. To all that helped support this party, I just want to thank you, there again, there were so many who pitched in to help I can’t remember all of them, guess I need to start writing down names. But I do want to thank Beryl who provided the magician, the kids loved him. Also wanted to thank Janie and Christene for the job they are doing with the Jr. Girls. Thanks to Christene Funderburg, Cancer Aid and Research Chairman, for the special guest speaker, Dr. Volter, for bring us a special educational program on Skin Cancer, I really enjoyed it and I think everyone else did too. Starting with January 2011 the list of activities is not to long but try not to forget any of the activities; To my wonderful Chairmen, if you want an article in our newsletter please send them to me before the end of each month and I will include them in my Email Newsletter. All Chairmen should start now on their year end reports. If you need help all you have to do is ask. We will start getting the pictures, canceled checks and other materials that you will need to do a good job on your year end report. Look at the year end report form to see if there is something you need to finish before the year is over. I know we are doing some great programs and we want our chairmen to be rewarded for all their hard work and it will happen if we send in a great year end report with all the supporting evidence of the work we have done.
