Well we are off to a brisk start for the year. Thanks to all who helped redo the Standing Rules! We had a pretty BIG crowd for the meeting, and took care of a lot of business. This is a very BUSY month. We will be having a Patriot’s Day program at 1:00 pm on the 11th of September, in remembrance of those who lost their lives on 9-11! Next we will have Open Labor Day Open House September 5th. Meeting night meal on the 13th will be King Ranch Casserole, so please bring sides and desserts. The POW-MIA program will be on the 16th, social hour will be at 6 p.m. and program starts at 7 p.m.. R.S.V.P. at 325-692-1111 Extension 1. We will start setting up around 3:00 that day and will need a lot of help! On the 17th we will have our annual Bicycle Rodeo starting at 8 am ‘till noonish, please come out and help us enjoy the kids. The AARP SAFETY DRIVING COURSE will be on the 24 th with breakfast at 8:30 am. The cost will be $12.00 for members and non members will be $14.00. RSVP to Christene Funderburg at 325-518-1554, or there is a sign up sheet on the door of the Auxiliary room! Whew I am out of breath just thinking about all these programs, Ha!! I am bringing in a large box for SCHOOL SUPPLIES, so please bring in what you can to fill it up for the children in Abilene Schools that can't afford all they need!
